Speaker: Sarah Sense

Join artist Sarah Sense as she shares her new work, A Plan of Boston (2023), on view in New Terrain: 21st-Century Landscape Photography, April 6–July 7. Commissioned by the Worcester Art Museum in 2023, this work celebrates Native resilience in the face of the violent impacts of colonialism. Sense will share a look at the process that brought this work to life: weaving together photos of landscapes with 17th-century colonial maps using traditional basket-making techniques from her Chitimacha and Choctaw heritage.
