WAM gets merry and bright for the holidays with artfully decorated trees inspired by the Museum's permanent collection and by Worcester, past and present—including a Worcester Heroes tree with ornaments made by the TEC School and Worcester Head Start students! The trees are designed and decorated by Sally Jablonski of Herbert E. Berg Florist Inc. Admission is by timed ticket only. Reserve or purchase your tickets.

Watch as Helmutt, WAM's canine mascot, is hand carved out of ice by award-winning artist Chip Koser, in this live sculpture demonstration by South Cape Ice Sculptures. Free with Museum admission.

Tune in to a humorous and colorful performance of Sir George and the Dragon by Worcester's Pumpernickel Puppets. For nearly 40 years, Pumpernickel Puppets have captivated audiences of all ages with their interpretations of classic folk and fairy tales. As we celebrate the different stories and legends of December holidays, join Pumpernickel's John McDonough and his puppets for a virtual performance and see how the legend of Sir George slaying the dragon is represented through works of art in WAM's collection. Free.

The Renaissance Court

While strolling through the Renaissance Court, enjoy sounds that will delight and lift your spirit! Free with Museum admission.

  • Sunday, December 6, 2-4pm
    Peruvian-born guitarist Carlos Odria plays an exciting blend of international styles, such as bossanova, Afro-Peruvian festejo, rumba flamenca, and Afro-Caribbean vibes with an improvisational approach inspired by the rich tradition of American jazz.
  • Sunday, December 20, 2-4pm
    Ariana Falk of the Worcester Chamber Music Society performs a selection of classical and holiday favorites for cello.

Museum Shop Special Holiday Hours

The Museum Shop will be open every day December 1 – 24, 10am-4pm, and Thursday, December 17, 10am – 8pm.

For the safety and comfort of guests, capacity in the Shop is limited.* Reserve a timed ticket to visit the Museum Shop.
