Conference Room (Higgins Education Wing)Join us at the Worcester Art Museum for a screening of Wortown Rising (2023), a documentary by independent filmmaker, musician, and producer Kaz Supernova. The film chronicles the first Hip-Hop movement in Worcester, which began around 1979, flourished in the ’80s, and eventually became known as “Wortown.” Since its debut, Wortown Rising has evolved into a major cultural preservation project. After the film, Kaz will discuss and share works from the collection he has put together of restored photographs, flyers, and rare archival materials.
