Museum-wideWelcome to your next night out. Celebrate the unveiling of Martine Gutierrez’s monumental new artwork, First Revelation of the Sovereign Queen, on the Worcester Art Museum’s Wall at WAM. Meet the artist, party with live music by The Femmes, enjoy specialty cocktails, and more during a night out to remember.
Martine Gutierrez blurs the boundaries between performance, photography, and self-portraiture to create elaborate photographic artworks. For her Wall at WAM commission at the Worcester Art Museum, Gutierrez will combine photography, painting, collage, and sculptural elements, drawing inspiration from centuries of art in the surrounding galleries.
Martine Gutierrez is an internationally acclaimed artist whose work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and now the Worcester Art Museum.
