He started by taking classes at WAM. Now he's a published author/illustrator with ten years in the business! This retrospective exhibit features original works from Jarrett J. Krosoczka's many award-winning children's books, including Punk Farm, Baghead, Ollie, the Lunch Lady series, and many others.

Participate in a raffle of original works of art by Jarrett; a special Scavenger Hunt is also available. Adults who wear a costume as a character from one of Jarrett's books will be granted free admission to Museum galleries during the book signing.

The Business of Children's Books

Join Worcester native and award winning author/illustrator Jarrett J. Krosoczka and see the world through the eyes of a professional children's book artist. Jarrett will share his experience growing up as an artist, the rejections he faced, and the growth of his writing and illustrating process. He'll also cover the submission process and distribute a packet of handouts with tips for beginning writers and illustrators.
Introduction to the Children's Picture Book

Through lecture and exercises, get an overview of the elements of picture book art and writing and the publishing process. Develop your idea or draft for a picture book into a submission-ready manuscript. Writers (who do not illustrate) and artists (who do not write) are welcome. Suzy Becker has written many books including All I Need To Know I Learned From My Cat.
