    Learn about Medieval Armor – The knight in shining armor conjures a myriad of images and captures the imagination. While the Middle Ages lasted roughly one thousand years (500-1500 AD/CE), the steel plate armor associated with the knight was only in use from 1350 AD/CE onwards. What were the strengths of armor? What were its weaknesses? Learn about the arms and armor that were used by knights and soldiers of the past in this interactive program.

    Hear Willard Mullin's Casey at the Bat and Other Diamond Tales by Ernest Lawrence Thayer and Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackkall (2019 Caldecott Medalist).
    *Limited to 20 participants for each story.
  • Artmaking Workshops (FREE for all ages)
    Higgins Education Wing
    11am–3pm, Studio 101 – Create a Baseball or Summer Fan
    11am–3pm, Studio 102 – Make an Ice Cream Cone Creation
    *Limited to 20 participants in the studio at a time. Feel free to wait in the Higgins hallway for the next available spots in these ongoing activities!
  • Membership Information Table
    10am–3pm
    Lancaster Lobby
    Meet representatives of WAM Members’ Council and learn about the benefits of Museum membership
  • Food and Shopping
    11am–3pm – Grub Guru Food Truck: Featuring Asian Fusion Street Food and Classic Kid Favorites — Exit through the Café and proceed to the Tuckerman Lot.
    10am to 4pm – The Museum's Vending Machines in the Café.
    Please note the Museum Café will not be open for service, but it will be available as a dining space.
    Shop 10am–4pm – Complete your journey with a visit to the Museum Shop. Pick up some WAM Iconic Jersey merchandise.
