The Worcester Art Museum has a full-time opening for a Donor Development Manager. This position will partner in the strategic development of a thorough prospect and suspect list with clear categories and assignments. The Donor Development Manager will possess a thorough understanding of the Museum’s comprehensive funding needs, priorities for operating, restricted giving and campaign objectives and goals, and be prepared to speak to each and any of these priorities.
The Donor Development Manager will identify major gift prospects through personal, face to face relationship and affinity building and learn prospects interests, philanthropic priorities and capacity. This position will manage a portfolio of 400+ gift prospects, which includes, developing a cultivation and solicitation strategy for each, including high level annual fund solicitations. Solicitations will include endowment, capital needs, restricted giving an annual fund. This position will work in partnership with colleagues and Campaign Steering Committee for all solicitations.
This role requires the ability to work both independently and to meet deadlines as well as the ability to develop working relationships with all types of people. This position also requires outstanding ability to listen and to understand Museum programs and priorities and match those with the interests and needs of the donor. Excellent written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have a BA and minimum 3-5 years of fundraising experience, including experience with face to face solicitations.
