Through February 8, 2004
Discover the exquisite craftsmanship of etchings by master printmakers, including Rembrandt, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, and Francisco Goya, as well as later printmakers James McNeill Whistler, Edward Hopper, and Louise Nevelson. This exhibition, the second in a series of Print Room installations to examine and explain the techniques of printmaking, focuses on the fundamental intaglio process of etching, along with the related technique of aquatint. Admire fine examples from the Museum's collection, and build your understanding of the printmaking process with a selection of tools, plates, and photomicrographs that illustrate the extraordinary detail of selected etchings in the exhibition. Supported by the Bernard G. and Louise B. Palitz Fund and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
