Tour of the Month: Portraits: Stories of People in Art.
Saturday, August 5 and 19, 2-3pm.
Who is that person in the painting? What clues can you find about their interests, status, or personality? How has the way artists depict people changed over time? Artworks from the United States and Europe are featured on this tour. Tour begins in the Lancaster Welcome Center.
Explore the Museum galleries with your family in a docent-guided discovery tour. Hear fun facts, stories, and enjoy sharing observations and time together. Tours last approximately 30 minutes.
Nude Drawing in the Galleries
Visitors are invited to set-up their drawing boards in the galleries for the rare opportunity to draw from life. Models pose among masterworks by such artists as Veronese, El Greco and Rembrandt. Beginners and seasoned artists alike are welcome to join a studio class faculty member as they teach new skills and techniques, all within the inspirational setting of the Museum. Participants should bring their own supplies. Graphite or colored pencils, erasers, drawing boards (23" x 26" or smaller). Stools will be provided.
Art + Market
Cover your produce needs this summer with our perennial favorite vendor, Dick’s Market Garden. All items for sale are locally grown in Lunenburg, MA. Enjoy the Museum galleries before or after your market visit! Market runs Saturdays through October 21, 2017, and does not operate during anticipated lightning. Sponsored by Webster Five.
