    Family Day: Castles and Dragons

    Explore the Worcester Art Museum in this fabulous day for kids and their families! We'll be offering Artmaking Activities, Performances, Storytelling, and a special gallery hunt. Free with Museum admission.

    Ongoing Activities - 11-2:30

    Family Guide
    Explore the museum’s collection and find images of dragons, castles, and armor. Return to Salisbury Hall and get a prize.

    Art Activity: Medieval “Stained Glass”
    Catch the light with this modern spin on “stained glass.” Great for small hands!

    Art Activity: Dragon Puppets
    Join WAM faculty members as they help inspire you to create your own hinged dragon.

    Art Activity: Castle Construction
    Make a 2D castle out of paper shapes. Decorate it any way you want!

    Art Activity: Rubbings

    Meet a Knight and a Princess

    Project Drop-Off
    Leave your artwork to dry on the Lancaster Lobby tables while you enjoy programs in Museum galleries.

    Scheduled Activities - (times listed below)

    Storytelling: The Paper Bag Princess - 12:30 and 1:30
    Join a knight in shining armor, visiting us from the Higgins Armory, who will tell this short story.

    Family Tour - 11:30am
    Explore the museum galleries with your family on a docent-guided discovery tour. Hear fun facts, stories and enjoy sharing observations and time together. Tour lasts approximately 30 minutes.


    Sip, Lancaster Lobby
    Enjoy a variety of snack items for sale at Sip, the new Food and Beverage service at WAM. Credit Cards welcome.

    Cost: Free with Museum admission, Children 17 and under free
