Window

The open window behind the curtain is another element of the original composition that we cannot see today. In the x-radiograph, this area appears slightly lighter than its surroundings, possibly indicating the use of a blue, mixed with lead white, used to render the sky or landscape. When the collar was repainted, the area of the window was covered with dark brown overpaint.
