2a. Sophisticated art in an early age (3/3)

The colossal heads from the Olmec culture are so well-known today that the creator of the hit TV show The Simpsons, Matt Groening, even included an animated version in several episodes. Bart Simpson saves Mr. Burns’ life and in thanks the old miser gives the boy a colossal “Olmec” head, which appears in later episodes variously in the Simpson’s attic and basement. Despite the life-like qualities of the original Olmec sculptures, Groening’s cartoon version appears almost Tiki-like in its animated features.
