Wedding/Event Facilitator

The Worcester Art Museum has a part-time opening, evening and weekends, for an experienced Wedding/Event Facilitator. This is not a "planner" position but rather one executing all the client details during the event. Working closely with the Event Sales Manager this position acts as client liaison to provide excellent "front of the house" customer service for weddings and corporate events. Duties include ensuring set-up is done to specification and on time for client arrival, coordinating catering and vendor logistics of the event, assisting with bar management and all aspects of wedding/event management.

The successful candidate will be able to engage positively with diverse groups of people in a public setting and react to changing needs and demands in a positive way. Must have three or more years of experience facilitating wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, and corporate events in an event setting; hotel, country club or unique venue. Other requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, lift 25 lbs. and negotiate stairs, and availability to work evenings and weekends.

Event Support Staff

The Worcester Art Museum has part-time openings (evenings and weekend hours) to complete set-up and dismantle tasks along with other event operation needs. Duties include arriving promptly and dressed in accordance with event requirements to move tables and chairs, sweep, vacuum, etc. During event, Support Staff will stock bar supplies, monitor event area, and ensure restrooms are clean for guest comfort and safety. Support Staff follow direction of events staff to dismantle and clean area at the conclusion of the event.

Support staff must have the ability to follow direction, safely lift at least 50 pounds and negotiate stairs, work within a secure environment, engage positively with diverse groups of people in a public setting, and react to changing needs and demands in a positive way.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or G.E.D. and previous event experience preferred. Position requires frequent lifting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Candidates must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and availability to work a flexible schedule (PT evening/weekend hours). Offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
