Worcester Art Museum is pleased to present our 9th annual Flora in Winter four-day celebration. Flora is one of the most highly anticipated events at the Museum, and this year promises to be even more spectacular with 23 floral designers and 18 professional florists interpreting works from the collection as well as adorning public spaces throughout the Museum. Around every corner visitors will discover beautiful and imaginative floral designs—it's a succulent feast for the eyes and spirit in the middle of winter!

EVENTS
Opening Celebration: Flora Euphoria!

Thursday, January 27, 5:30-8pm
Renaissance Court/Galleries
$12 WAM/THBG Members; $25 nonmembers. No RSVP required.
Celebrate Flora in Winter at its freshest during this evening soirée. Visit with friends, wander the galleries, and be inspired! Live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar add to the festivities.


Special Programming: Garden Club Day at WAM returns

An event exclusively for Garden Club members! This fun afternoon starts with a boxed lunch, followed by a floral demonstration with Susan Detjens and MaryEllen O'Brien. These award winning designers will demonstrate how they prepare and execute design entries for flower shows. Next, take a docent-led tour to visit the Flora arrangements in the galleries. Come early, stay late, and enjoy the collection, the interpretations and the wonder of Flora.


Demonstration: Interpretive Challenge Class

Friday, January 28, 3-4:30pm
Renaissance Court
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
Watch and learn as a select group of arrangers craft interesting floral designs inspired by Charline von Heyl's Wall at WAM in the Renaissance Court. The finished arrangements will be on view to enjoy for the duration of Flora and will be raffled off on Sunday, January 30th.


Family Fun: Music with Mr. Kim

Saturday, January 29, 11:30am-12:30pm

Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.
Bring your kids with you and be thoroughly entertained by Mr. Kim Webster, a consummate musician and puppeteer. Mr. Kim's music is sure to be a crowd pleaser for the whole family!


Flora Demonstration: A Peek inside the Secrets of Flower Show Designing

Artist Demonstration

Join artist and WAM faculty member Nan Hass Feldman as she creates an original painting before your eyes inspired by an installation from Flora. Ask questions about the creative process and inspiration.


Flora in Winter Concert

Renaissance Court
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required.

The Auburn High School Select Choir under the direction of Charles Pietrello and Women of Note, an a capella harmony group in the barbershop style under the direction of Liane Iannuzzo, will fill the Renaissance Court with enchanting choral music.


For Kids of All Ages: Origami Flowers

Join Origami experts (and brothers) Dennis and Dave Brannon and learn the fine art of Origami. Create your own flowers and take a piece of Flora in Winter home with you!


Flora in Winter Concert

The Shrewsbury High School Women's Choir under the direction of Michael Lapomardo and The Tantasqua Regional High School Choraleers under the direction of Christine Costello, Director of Fine Arts, will provide delightful ambiance for the final afternoon of Flora.

Parking
Valet parking will be available throughout Flora in Winter at the Salisbury Street entrance at a fee of $5 per car.
