Higgins Education Wing Exhibitions
Kaleidoscope Studios: [re-visions]
Worcester State University Department of Visual and Performing Art
October 8-November 22, 2013
This exhibition is designed to facilitate artistic responses to the [remastered] exhibition in the museum galleries. Organized by a group of Worcester State University students, we are creating our own art inspired by [remastered], and we invite you to submit your own. We welcome submissions of visual art in all mediums, as well as the written word such as poetry and haiku. We want to provide an experimental creative environment for you to respond to the reconfigured Old Master galleries. Our exhibition is a work-in-progress and will change over the semester. Come back often to see how we grow. Please contact Kristine MacBrian: email@example.com for more information about submitting your work.
Making the Micro Macro: Colorized Microscopy Images from WPI

Every summer, high school students from across the state come to Worcester to participate in Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Camp Frontiers. Participants collected imagery from WPI’s enormous scanning electron microscope (SEM), then digitally colorized the images in creative ways. This installation is held in conjunction with the Jeppson Idea Lab installation of Michael Benson’s colorized image of deep space, “Carina Nebula.”
