Paper
Watercolor BLOCK paper - must be 100% COTTON
or
2-3 sheets of Arches 100 % COTTON 140 cold press paper (packs of 5 sheets can be purchased) - You will need 1/2 sheet to start.

If you are not using block paper, but single sheets, you will also need: plywood ½" thick approximately 20X24 gummed tape for stretching paper.

Paints, ETC
· white plastic palette, medium to large, many wells for holding and mixing paint
· 2 quart size plastic container for holding water
· watercolor tube paints (for first two classes) should include:
· cadmium yellow, cadmium red, ultramarine blue,
· for later use: alizarin crimson, cerulean blue, yellow ochre, burnt umber

(Professional paints are preferred, since the quality is better. You may purchase individual paints or buy a set)

Brushes - a variety of small, medium, and large watercolor brushes.

· drafting tape or low tack masking tape, not artists tape
· ruler
· 2B and 4B pencils
· x-acto knife
· paper towels, Viva preferred

optional supplies for later use:

· blow dryer (for quick drying)
· Liquid masque (for masking) and an old brush
· sea sponge
· sketch pad

If you have supplies already at home, please bring them to class.
