Silk Painting

1. One or two wood frames (canvas stretcher bars) 22x22, please feel free to bring more if you like and additional sizes.
2. Thumb tacks, three-pronged silks pins, or pushpins to secure fabric to frame
3. Several 6-8 ounce clear plastic cups for mixing dyes (or small yogurt cups with lids, for example)
4. Containers for water to wash brushes (an old sour cream container for example)
5. Plastic bag to protect your work to carry home
6. Simple drawings for design ideas

Optional:
1. Cookie sheet or tray for supplies (good idea)
2. Smock or apron
3. Latex or rubber gloves
4. Dressmaker chalk pencil to draw on silk
5. Hairdryer and extension cord
6. Additional white or light colored silk or all-natural fiber yardage: cotton, rayon, linen, tencel.
NO SYNTHETICS OR SYNTHETIC BLENDS, PLEASE; these dyes only work on natural fibers.
